Halong Bay & Cat Ba Island

Halong Bay

This UNESCO World Natural Heritage in Vietnam is truly an inspirational wonder of nature.  With a total area of some 1,500 square kilometres and set against the backdrop of more than 2,000 limestone grottoes of various shapes and sizes rising out of calm and emerald waters, the mystical Halong Bay offers the unique experience of being lost in a paradise of its own.

Discover the marvel of Thien Cung cave within which are remarkable stalagmites and stalactites formed over hundreds of years; hop over to find out the interesting lifestyle of the bay people on the many floating fishing villages where young children row boats to attend school; take a short exercise by climbing up a flight of steps to the top of Titov island for a magnificent overview of the bay; or kayak to explore hidden caves and virtually untouched sandy beaches…, these are but some of the many exciting activities that take place in and around the breathtaking bay area.

Desiring a more leisurely pace and wanting to chill out?  Halong Bay is the perfect place to savour the romance of sipping fine wine in the upper deck of your junk while gazing at the evening sun setting, to be followed with a sumptuous meal of fresh seafood enjoyed in the midst of the awesome surroundings.

Whether it is a 5-hour cruise around the bay, or an overnight on board a sailing junk sleeping beneath 1,000 stars, you can never have enough of Halong Bay’s magnificent scenery.  For the more adventurous, kayaking into beautiful Hang Luon cave and Ba Ham Lakes will prove to be an experience of a lifetime.
