In Vietnam, I want to.......
...tour
the ancient cities of Hue, Hanoi or Hoi An on a bicycle or cyclo. I want
to see the cities on the pedals, visit the museums and go into the little
alleys to taste the local delicacies.
...watch the entertaining traditional water puppet performance. I want to be an
audience in a
theatre where lacquer puppets share colourful Vietnamese legends and lifestyles
over moments of splashes in the water.
...trek
up the mountains and take in the awesome scenery of terraced rice paddy
fields. I want to visit the minority people groups, the Hmong, Dao, Thai,
wearing their colourful traditional costumes as they go about their daily
activities.
...kayak
amidst the spectacular Halong Bay and enjoy the view of the sun setting
over the 2,000 grottoes. I want to spend a tranquil night on a boat in
the bay and appreciate the beauty of nature's creation.
...go
shopping at the interesting street outlets for all kinds of Vietnamese
art, lacquerware and embroidery products. I want to go to the markets
and sit around the cafes to chill out.
...join a cooking class which will teach me interesting and
delicious Vietnamese cuisine. I want to cook up something special when I
return home.
...take a trip to the tailors and make clothes that
will make eyes turn when I wear them. I want to present the amazing
craftsmanship of the master tailors here to people at home.
...laze
around at the untouched sandy beaches and bask in the sunshine. I want
to just do nothing, and feel good that I am doing nothing ;-)
